The annual kicksled day Kolkja Kelk 2017 will be held on February 5 in the Kolkja Village by the Lake Peipus, where kicksleds have been used in wintertime for generations.

The kick sledge day Kolkja Kelk 2017 takes place in Kolkja, on the ice of Lake Peipus at the Kolkja bathing area.

The kicksled race (800 m) begins with a joint start at 12:00.

  •  Children and adults, men and women head off from a joint start. Individual prizes are given for the winners of the men’s, women’s and children’s categories. Everyone is welcome to the joint start with their own old or new kicksled!

Team relay kicksled race (4x250m) starts at 13:00.

Teams of four members can participate. The relay race is divided into heats and a final of the fastest teams.

Start and finish

- Start and finish, the award ceremony and concerts take place on Lake Peipus ice.

- All finishing racers receive a medal for successful participation.

    Registering and participation fee

    -We kindly ask all relay race teams and people taking part of the joint start to pre-register

    • Participation fee until 4 February 2017 is 5 €/adult and 2€/child
    •  From 5 February 2017, the participation fee is 7€/adult and 4€/child.
    • Kicksled rent 7€

    Racers participating in the team relay race as well as the joint race do not have to pay double!

    The event is organised by the Peipsimaa Visitor Centre in cooperation with the Peipsiääre rural municipality. The organisation of the kicksled day is supported by the Gambling Tax Committee and the enterprises of Peipsimaa.
